摘要：

回顾香港开埠至今170 多年，不算长却也不能说短的城市发展历程，期间挑战重重，难关处处。西方城市规划的理论及实践被引进香港，逐渐构建了与香港本土情况相互适应的规划理念、策略及体制。这是一个值得我们深入探究的课题。

Abstract：

Reviewing the history of Hong Kong’s opening up to be an international free port for over 170 years, its urban development process is neither long nor short while it still met a large number of challenges and difficulties. The urban planning theories and practices from Western countries have been introduced into Hong Kong, and have developed the planning concepts, strategies and systems in accordance with Hong Kong’s local conditions. This worths a long-lasting research.
