Enlightenment of the Integrated Development Model of Berlin Tempelhof Airport Based on the Careful Urban Regeneration Theory

Abstract:

With the suspension and relocation of the old airport, the former airport area covering a vast area are in urgent need of transformation and redevelopment. The urban regeneration of these old airport areas located in the city center or suburbs has become a new growth point to promote urban development. However, the mature path and advanced mode of organic regeneration of old airport areas in China are still being explored. First of all, this paper analyzes the integrated development case of Berlin Tempelhof airport area based on the careful urban regeneration theory, and then deeply analyzes the decision-making process, implementation strategies and development effect of the urban regeneration project in this airport area. Finally, a conclusion is drawn on the lessons learned from the urban regeneration theory application and its practice in the Tempelhof airport area for the integrated development of old airport areas in China.
